i. introducing the collective

Across the world, a string of religious beliefs, laws, and standards manufacture an active support and how the fans behave. A hot topic often in the headlines, an atmosphere is built that is valued highly within our game and an experience adored by many.

Within our code we share an unrivalled passion for our club, a feeling almost non existent in other sports. A sense of euphoria felt at each match whether in the stands of your home stadium, or feeling the immense pressure at an away game. Match-day, it’s simply one of the most important days in our year.

Often considered the most extreme Ultra group in Italy, Curva Nord of SS Lazio at home to neighbours AS Roma.

In Australia, the sport has suffered much adversity stunting the growth of football in our country. As participation rises every year and continues to be the most played sport in Australia, there is a serious lack of funding and consistent questioning of the system and organisation at the helm. However it’s important to know that the atmospheres we see on our screens internationally have existed throughout football’s history in Australia and are still present in our game today.

At saints + souls much of our inspiration comes from the sub-cultures built in Europe, although it is our ambition to introduce it further into Australian culture, in sights to grow and extend the knowledge of our game. To achieve this, we are introducing our new social series, collective.

Collective. is our tour of duty through the roots of football, touring the sights of famous grounds belonging to Australia’s biggest clubs, to sharing the experience of must see rivalries and to introduce the European Ultra scene to Australia. We also take you through Australia’s football triumphs over the last 50+ years with the previous National Soccer League, and more currently the A-League and National Premier Leagues.

One of Sydney’s biggest NPL club, Sydney United 58, celebrating with fans after a hard fought Australia Cup win.

Through our tour, we share past and present footballing experiences through blogs and social videos that help illustrate our passion and involvement in expanding football and ultras in our country, the new destination for football inspired fashion.

The tour of duty commences, Welcome to the Collective.
